IT'S A TRAP!
Digital illustration. This was completely drawn in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. A fitting tribute to Erik Bauersfeld who originally voiced Admiral Akbar and just passed away.
I also animated it in Adobe After Effects. All movable parts were drawn on separate layers in Photoshop so that they could be edited and moved in After Effects.
Bumblebee Animated GIF
I animated this in stop-motion first, and then traced over it as pixel art in Photoshop. So here's an animated transforming Bumblebee.

Conan Animated
I decided to turn my Conan art into a mini animation loop. So here it is.
Layers were cut apart in Photoshop, then the pic was animated in After Effects.

Animated Deinonychus (Raptor)
Here is a Deinonychus (Raptor) walk cycle I animated. This is traditional hand-drawn animation. No computers were used in the creation of the drawings. The animation is a 20 frame loop.
The Jurassic Park Velociraptors were used as reference when designing the proper look of the dino as well as influencing it's movement.

Traditional Animation GIF's
Here are a few newly made GIF's of some traditional hand-drawn animation that I did. All original characters.
Walking Robot. Actually, I'm not sure if this should be a robot or a suit of armor... but either way, it's a walking figure.

Running Robot. I call him Robos. His head was designed after one of those old portable TV's.
Here's a villager who really has to go to the bathroom.

Electrical Blast
Just a bit of practice. Here's an animated GIF of a small blast effect. All drawn and animated in Photoshop.
Happy Anniversary! card
This is an anniversary card that I made for my parents on their 30th anniversary. All hand drawn pixel art. 150pixels wide and 200 pixels high. 2 frame animation.
Cerebus The Aardvark
I was contacted by Mr. Simonsen of What Comics Entertainment a few years ago. He said he'd seen my work on Vimeo and wondered if I'd like to help animate a 3D animated film based on the comic book series Cerebus The Aardvark. He stated that it wasn't going to be a huge Hollywood budget film, but more of an Independent film that would stay true to the source material. Well, I've animated quite a bit for them now and it's getting close to being completed. Recently, I helped design the opening intro of the film.
Here's the intro I made for him posted on What Comics' youtube channel...
Cerebus Intro
I had made this background for the text and logo to stand atop of. This is a Photoshop composite of 2 different parchments with 2 different boarders edited together.
And here it is with the Cerebus logo.

Turns out Mr. Simonsen liked the background so much, that he wanted one to be featured in the final version of the film. So I went to work making another parchment background that would be AOK for commercial use.
And here it is. This one was made by combining 7 different parchment images together. The boarder was drawn myself, but based off some sort of medieval mosaic pattern I found.
These were even featured on What Comics' own blog for the film.
Soundwave animation

Yeah, it's only 5 seconds long, but I was mainly just focused on the compositing and not so much on making an actual full story. The figure was stop motion animated while everything else was animated in After Effects.

Asteroid Belt
Thought it would be cool to make an asteroid field, so here it is. Every single asteroid in this scene is the same rock. I made the asteroid by taking a rock from my backyard (which I painted) and hanging it by a blue string in front of a blue screen. Then I simply composited it all over the screen and added the background with photoshopped layers.

Raptor Walk Cycle - FINAL
Traditional animation of a Velociraptor walking in place. Really just a study of movement and how a body would move with realistic physics.
Check it out at the following link.

Lego Star Wars
This was my college senior thesis project at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Instead of spending time creating a story and characters, I wanted to focus on sharpening and showcasing my technical abilities.
All ships are actual Lego models shot in front of a green screen. Figures were stop-motion animated. The faces were animated separately and then applied to a blank Lego head.
The trench was created in Blender and was textured with actual photographs of Legos.
All visual effects and compositing (i.e. lasers, star-scape,engine blasts) were done in Adobe After Effects.
